Colour Differences on different browsers
It has been bought to my attention that the colours that one person see's using Internet Explorer are not the same as the ones that I see using Chrome....
TK - I think that we may have discussed this the other day but not sure. The colours on the background of my boxes and forum on Chrome are black but another mod uses IE and they are purple. Not what they are supposed to be! Is there a way to fix this? I'm sure there is so would you be so kind as to let me know what I seem to have done wrong? Thanks!!!

RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
I see your theme as all purple too. That's why I said the lettering was too light.
Check your code. If you don't have it spaced properly it will render messed up on different browsers. FYI - Google Chrome is a sucky browser, worse than IE! ![]() Here's a screen shot of your site as I see it on my Mac. Shows the same on my PC with IE and windows xp. If you want me to look at the code for you I can. click for full size view: ![]() I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head. _______________ Please don't PM me for free personal one on one support. RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
Thanks Eric! Looks better when its the right colours! TK - I couldn't understand what you meant as for me it all right! It wasnt' until I decided to look on DP"s computer that I realized. He uses IE.... Ok Code - which particular code are we talking about? If you can let me know I will take a look tonight. I haven't really played with anything that was stock from MYBB except for the font colouring, I have been back through and tried to work out where I went wrong but to no avail. As for browsers, I used to use FF but someone suggested Chrome to me. I haven't had any problems with it. And I have to use this just cause I love it!!!

RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
I had this suggestion from the MYBB help boards:
Change both the .trow1 and .trow2 background to #000 instead of #00000 and #0000 (both of which are not quite valid). Edit: You also might consider putting your site through an HTML validator. FF has a good plugin that will validate sites when they load; 3 guesses as to what it's called. And I have done that and it works!!! Well on my computer it does!! TK - what do you know about this HTML validator thingy? |

RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
OK apparently from their suggestions they found you were using 4 and 5 digit color codes. You need either 3 if they are any solid color of the SAME LETTER or NUMBER or the full 6 with the # sign.
As for what I meant by code - exactly that. Whatever you changed could have had a missing letter, number, spaced too far or too little apart, or a ; or any other symbol missing. Glad it's working for you now. ![]() I have no idea what you're talking about so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head. _______________ Please don't PM me for free personal one on one support. RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
Hey, every time I check your site I am logged in. I log out but wtf? I am logged in again just now when I checked. I did log out again. Weird.

RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
Thats weird....I can log out no worries. I've even created a dummy user so that I can check things on a user level and have no dramas with logging out there either. I always have to log in as well....I wonder if its a setting?

RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
No setting. There is none of those "keep me logged in" settings with Mybb - I wouldn't allow it to do that if there were. I hate those things - they're like Nazi's LOL

RE: Colour Differences on different browsers
Except MyBB does that w/out asking. All that setting does is store a cookie on your computer to keep you logged in. MyBB puts a year long cookie on without asking about it. However, when you actually use "log out" its supposed to destroy that cookie.
If it happens again, check your cookies. |
